Medical Transport Service

The Medical Transport Service is intended for First Nations and Inuit people living in urban areas or outside their home communities who need to travel for medical appointments outside their home town.

This service is offered to eligible people living in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nord-du-Québec regions.

Our Services

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA*

  • Eligibility is authorized under the rules of the First Nations and Inuit Services Branch of Indigenous Services Canada.
  • All requests for transportation must be pre-authorized by a Medical Transport Officer 24 hours in advance.

TERMS OF SERVICE*

  • Transportation cannot be in the same city.
  • Officers will always authorise the most convenient and economical mode of transport.

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • The Medical Transport Service is not an emergency transport service. For all emergencies, please call 911.
