The Friendship Centre’s Indigenous Health Clinic offers health care and services provided by physicians and nurses. Community members have access to services such as routine health, social perinatal, chronic disease treatment and screening.

The clinic is based on a culturally safe approach that aims to reduce the gaps and inequalities between the Indigenous population and the Canadian and Quebec populations. The clinic is a co-constructed initiative with the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

Our Services

The walk-in clinic is a health consultation service offered by a nurse at the Indigenous Friendship Centre. This service is available with or without an appointment from Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to noon and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

A medical consultation service is offered by a physician at the Indigenous Health Clinic of the Friendship Centre. This service is available every Tuesday on appointment.

The Mother and Child Clinic is a medical consultation service for pregnant women, new parents and their babies offered by a physician at the Friendship Centre’s Indigenous Health Clinic. This service is available with or without an appointment every Monday and Wednesday afternoon.

  • Postpartum care
  • Medical consultation for children 0-5 years
  • Contraception

The clinic also offers perinatal services.

TRANSPORT SERVICE FOR MEDICAL REASONS

The Medical Transport Service is intended for First Nations and Inuit people living in urban areas or outside their home communities who need to travel for medical appointments outside their home town.
