Kinawit

Kinawit is a place of healing and reconciliation that promotes encounters, sharing, cultural expression and the transmission of First Peoples’ traditional and contemporary knowledge, with a view to valuing culture and identity and living together in harmony.

Located in a natural environment, on the shores of Lake Lemoine, near the town of Val-d’Or, the Friendship Centre’s Kinawit site allows members of the urban indigenous community to come and practice their culture, in addition to allowing visitors to come and discover and immerse themselves in this culture.

Kinawit has a large, fully equipped main lodge, five tepees and eight small, heated and lit rustic camps, as well as a spacious grassy area surrounded by a vast wooded area and marked walking trails.
